Pedagogical Coaching: Moving with Kids
10-hour Training for Dance Educators
Moving with Kids is a 10-hour coaching session designed to share my approach and tools for teaching dance to children. The goal is twofold: to offer practical resources you can apply directly, and to help you develop your own teaching strategies based on your unique profile, values, and goals.
I approach the teaching moment as prepared improvisation — a dynamic, responsive, and performative experience that evolves in real time with the group.
The different blocks are :
- "Teaching who ?" Understand and assess the needs of different age groups. Be able to recognize and explore the children’s interests.
- "Teaching what ?" Assess, develop and organise your movement skills. This module helps you clarify what you want to transmit.
- "Teaching how ?" Design and guide classes using diverse points of reference: space, music, objects, and the group itself. Learn how to create exercises and class structures that manage the children’s energy: liberation, canalization, and release.
- "Who is teaching ?" Embrace the performative nature of leading a class.
We’ll explore how to use your presence, rhythm, voice, and vulnerability to stay centered, capture attention, communicate clearly, and allow room for imperfection and play.
